{"id":68,"date":"2014-09-02T21:03:18","date_gmt":"2014-09-02T21:03:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/obscura-works.com\/blog\/?p=68"},"modified":"2015-09-10T20:04:40","modified_gmt":"2015-09-10T20:04:40","slug":"upcoming-exhibits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/obscura-works.com\/blog\/upcoming-exhibits\/","title":{"rendered":"Upcoming Exhibits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Although I&#8217;m continuing to pursue upcoming shows both statewide and regionally (here&#8217;s looking at you PNW), I thought I&#8217;d share with you all where <em>Stories Fading Fast <\/em>will be visiting next.\u00a0 This spring saw two exhibits &#8211; a preview show and a full show at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FairbanksCommunityMuseum\">Fairbanks&#8217; Community Museum<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WellStreetArtCompany\">Well Street Art Co.<\/a>, respectively, but I&#8217;m now branching out for the remainder of 2014 and 2015:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/obscura-works.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/upcoming1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-210\" src=\"http:\/\/obscura-works.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/upcoming1-1024x512.jpg\" alt=\"upcoming\" width=\"676\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"http:\/\/obscura-works.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/upcoming1-1024x512.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/obscura-works.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/upcoming1-300x150.jpg 300w, http:\/\/obscura-works.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/upcoming1-945x473.jpg 945w, http:\/\/obscura-works.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/upcoming1-600x300.jpg 600w, http:\/\/obscura-works.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/upcoming1.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 676px) 100vw, 676px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Beginning next month, <em>Stories Fading Fast<\/em> will begin its statewide tour at Soldotna&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kenairiverbrewing.com\/Welcome.html\">Kenai River Brewing Company<\/a> &#8211; a great non-traditional art space in the heart of the Kenai Peninsula.\u00a0 This show will feature a small selection of work from the entire series and I&#8217;ll be on-hand for Q&amp;A.<\/p>\n<p>From there, you&#8217;ll be able to see the entire series on display at Alaska Pacific University&#8217;s ConocoPhillips Gallery in Anchorage.\u00a0 This January show not only will showcase the entire set of images but you&#8217;ll also be able to catch local photographer and former Photo Editor of ADN, Richard Murphy, and his work in APU&#8217;s Gottstein Gallery at the same time.\u00a0 I especially look forward to this show to catch up with a lot of Anchorage-based photographers I know and love &#8211; as well as local friends, family and fans &#8211; so be sure to come out for this!<\/p>\n<p>Also in January is a Lower-48 group show at Illinois&#8217; Millikin University, where I&#8217;ll be part of a group show of alternative photographers.\u00a0 Although the list of featured photographers hasn&#8217;t been finalized, I know my work will be in the company of Jonah Calinawan (<a href=\"http:\/\/amillionsuns.com\/\">site<\/a>), Johnny Power (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnnypowerart.com\/\">site<\/a>) and Maureen Delaney (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chimeraphoto.com\/\">site<\/a>).\u00a0 Although my hopes are to feature the work in more galleries throughout the country, this is your first chance to see it outside of Alaska!<\/p>\n<p>Last but definitely not least &#8211;
