Emblem & Artifice coming to Anchorage

Atomic

Exciting news for my fellow Alaskans that haven’t had a chance to see Emblem and Artificeit will be on display at Alaska Pacific University this upcoming Fall! Featured as a solo exhibition at APU’s ConocoPhillips Gallery, this body of work features 24 sets of chemigram prints, all printed on traditional photographic paper that expired five days prior to the bombing of Hiroshima. Emblem and Artifice captures well-known symbols of this horrific conflict and discusses the fading memory of the lessons learned while highlighting the dual nature and hidden history of each icon.

On display from November 2-30th, 2018, I will be on-hand for a show opening and hope to see all my Southcentral friends while I’m down there.

I have previously shown my work at Alaska Pacific University back in January of 2015, when I shared Stories Fading Fast with the Anchorage community. Previously, Emblem and Artifice has been featured in a solo exhibition at the University of Laverne, a dual exhibition at Seattle’s Gallery 1/1, and several group exhibitions from Savannah to Astoria. Thanks to Dan Shepard’s hard work at Gallery 1/1, Emblem & Artifice was also featured in Photo LA and a popup show in Burbank. I look forward to working with the gallery staff at APU and meeting the artistic community in Anchorage!
