Upcoming January Shows

Just a short note detailing some of the upcoming gallery shows for Stories Fading Fast this next month – perhaps most importantly, January represents the first time SFF will be featured in a show outside of Alaska!

January 2nd, 2014: Alaska Pacific University’s ConocoPhillips Gallery, Grant Hall, Anchorage, AK

  • The entire series of prints for Stories Fading Fast will be on display in Anchorage, Alaska for the month of January at APU’s ConocoPhillips Gallery.  Totaling 28 prints in 14 frames, this is an updated series of images than what was shown at June’s display at Fairbanks’ Well Street Art Co.  Within the week, I should have specifics on the time of the opening, which I’ll be on-hand for.  Works are available for purchase framed or unframed.  This will be the first time I’ve displayed my work in Alaska’s largest city, so I look forward to meeting the local art crowd!

January 20th, 2014:  Millikin University, Perkinson Gallery, Decatur, IL

  • A selection of 14 images in 7 frames will be featured as part of a group show with two other alternative process photographers I know quite well from my time at the Academy of Art University.  Johnny Power is hosting this amazing event that’ll feature Jonah Calinawan’s A Million Suns and Maureen Delaney’s Natural Elements series.  That means in one show you’ll be able to see amazing work in cyanotypes, van dyke browns and platinum/palladium – and, quite seriously, some of the best examples of what these three processes are capable of.  Although I wish I could attend this opening, it’s timing puts it squarely at odds with the first week of classes at UAF.  Works are available for purchase framed or unframed.  This show will be on display through the end of February.

I hope some of you out there get to either one of these shows – and, as always, I look forward to hearing your critique and comments, whether through social media, email or comments below.
